On October 3 and 4, 2026, an event called Cider Days, was held on the grounds of Belmar Park to celebrate Lakewood’s agricultural heritage. The park itself is 132 acres, and the event is held in a fenced off area, called Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park, located at 801 South Yarrow Street in Lakewood, CO. This was the 50th year for the popular family event.
Of special interest to the US 40 Breakfast Club is the “Colfax Hub,” a wide walkway with several buildings from the 1950’s and 1960’s. These include a motel, beauty shop, sandwich shop and gas station, which exemplify the growth of Lakewood after World War II. Information panels at each building make for an easy self-guided tour of US 40 in midcentury Lakewood.
The annual tractor pull brings in people from far and wide, and other activities such as cider making, face painting, a magic show, meet a goat, and wagon rides keep the little ones busy. Food trucks and vendors, as well as live entertainment on 3 stages round out the bill. The setting, the season, and the variety of activities keep people coming back year after year.
